Lo-Fang – Blue Film

Exclusive: Stream the 4AD singer's mesmeric, string-heavy debut album

A brooding, quietly intense exercise in electronic torch song, Lo-Fang’s debut album Blue Film is what James Blake might sound like if he trained at Conservatory music school and grokked cheesy Olivia Newton-John songs. He covered “You’re the One That I Want” because it “represents seduction, transformation and desperation”, and with this cover as in his original material, the layers of strings and dense vocal arrangements gleam like obsidian.
