We get a sneak studio preview with Matthew Dear for the new collaboration from Danish design agency AIAIAI
Working on both minimal Scandinavian design and high-end performance, the TMA-1's from Copenhagen based design agency AIAIAI have, perhaps surprisingly, done the near-impossible task of becoming one of the music industry's finest headphones on their first shot, as tested out by their roster of illustrious DJs. Whilst their last design was made specifically for DJing, the arrival of the TMA-1 Studio's acts as the ideal counterpart for musicians.
Collaborating with design and archiectural heads KiBiSi and acclaimed producer/sound engineer Jon Schumann, AIAIAI have constructed audio gear built for durability on the road, and targeted comfort for producing, with on-point sound design. Working closely with partners, the iconic record label Ghostly, they've got artist Matthew Dear/Audion on board for their new video, shot in his studio as the first in a series...
"A Studio visit with Matthew Dear," a cinematic glimpse into the Brooklyn home-studio of Matthew Dear. The video is the first in a series of studio visits curated by AIAIAI in support of the new TMA-1 Studio headphones, created with the travelling professional DJ/producer in mind. Shot and edited by videographer Will Calcutt on location in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the black-and-white short gives viewers a taste of Dear's live and work environment as he describes the origin of his life in music. "Her Fantasy," the lead single from Dear's forthcoming album Beams, serves as a suitably optimistic score for the video."
