We premiere the fast-rising Siberian producer and vocalist's new video for her track 'Ghetto Kraviz' ahead of the release of her debut album on Rekids
Known for her unequivocal breed of simple yet effective deep house & techno, the Moscow-based producer, vocalist and DJ, Nina Kraviz has moved a long way since her first standout releases for the likes of Germany's staple labels Cocoon and BPitch Control to Matt 'Radio Slave's Rekids. Now set to release her debut album on the latter this February, her focus has shifted onto exploring a wider range of sounds, influenced by her ongoing love of acid house and experimental offbeat rhythms.
[This is] the best job in the world. Very challenging and thought provoking
The dark and hypnotic new record acts as a condensed showcase of Kraviz's abilities, such as her own haunting vocals, subtlely warped and layered over minimal and at times - sparse beats, deftly moving between broadly-varying styles and textures. Here we exclusively premiere the new video featuring the Siberian enchantress for 'Ghetto Kraviz' taken from the album...

The sound of the young green woods after the rain

Falling in love for real

...the best thing about where you're from?
I am from Siberia. I think we, Siberians, are lucky dudes... Because we have Lake Baikal. The deepest lake in the world by the way.
...are you listening to now?
Watching Once upon a Time in America at the moment and there is this soundtrack from Ennio Morricone... I am nearly crying.
