15 years after the original release of The Devil Wears Prada, the film’s biggest stars are set to reunite over Zoom, and one fan is in with a chance of dropping in on the call. All they have to do is win a charity auction, though the prize is estimated to fetch around $50,000.
Raising money for the Lollipop Theater Network — a non-profit organisation that brings entertainment to children in hospitals across the US — the private call will last 10 minutes. That’s just long enough to request some iconic quotes and style advice, or really get to the bottom of whether Andy’s boyfriend, Nate, was the real villain of the film.
Members of the cast that will make an appearance on the call include Meryl Streep (who plays the ice-cold editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly), and Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci, and Emily Blunt (her long-suffering co-assistants).
“We are so thrilled to be celebrating our 20th anniversary with the incredibly talented cast of The Devil Wears Prada,” says Lollipop Theater Network’s executive director, Evelyn Iocolano, in a statement.
“We have seen the tremendous impact that these kinds of interactions have on our young patients, and now one lucky bidder will have the chance to experience it themselves, all while contributing much-needed funds to keep our programs up and running!”
Currently, the highest bid on the auction lot (via Charitybuzz) stands at $8,500. Bidding is scheduled to close on August 3.
