Get your Prime subscription ready because John Waters is joining the cast of Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
The filmmaker is set to star in the upcoming fourth season of the comedy series, which follows a housewife in the 50s who decides to become a stand-up comedian. There’s no details on Waters’ casting as of yet, though it’s been confirmed that he’ll make a guest appearance.
As well as directing and writing several iconic films, including Hairspray, Pink Flamingos, and Female Trouble, Waters has starred in a number of films and TV shows, including Ryan Murphy’s Feud: Bette and Joan.
In The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Waters will join regular cast members Rachel Brosnahan, Alex Borstein, Jane Lynch, Michael Zegen, and more. The series is created by Gilmore Girls’ Amy Sherman-Palladino.
With production already underway in New York, here’s hoping we’ll be treated to a glimpse of the Pope of Trash’s cameo soon.
