A tweet from the TV show’s official account today said: “Exciting news, huns,” before revealing the line-up of guest stars, including DJ Jodie Harsh, actress Natalie Cassidy, actor Jay Revell, and former contestant Raven.
“Surprise!! Look out for my cameo on Drag Race UK season 2!!” Harsh tweeted earlier today. “So excited!” The Eastenders star, Cassidy, also tweeted about her appearance on the show, saying that she had “the best time” filming it.
Drag Race UK is returning to screens on January 14, after it was delayed due to the coronavirus, with 12 new queens all competing for the title of the UK’s next drag superstar. RuPaul and Michelle Visage return as judges, while Graham Norton and Alan Carr also come into the fold on a rotational basis.
There’s also been a steady stream of guest-judge announcements via social media, with this season boasting an impressive cast of celebrities including Dawn French, Jessie Ware, and Maya Jama, who said after her appearance was revealed: “The way I love this show. Can. Not. Wait!!!!”
Earlier this month, the show announced its new contestants, including dancer Asttina Mandella from East London, who has worked with Kanye West and Little Mix, Bimini Bon Boulash, who is non-binary and says their drag often has a “strong vegan message”, and Cherry Valentine from Darlington, who compares her drag to “a beautiful lady possessed by the devil.”
The youngest queen is 21-year-old Ellie Diamond from Dundee, who will feature alongside another Scottish competitor, Lawrence Chaney from Glasgow, who describes herself as “a mix of Rab C Nesbitt and Susan Boyle”.
