They’re on the pitch, in the ring, or on the track. And that makes sense: it’s these moments that set them apart from the rest of us, after all. But what about the moments in between? What does rest and recuperation look like, and is it really possible to switch off the energetic impulse completely? Released last month, Under Armour’s Rest Less campaign gave us a rare insight into these moments of downtime. Think: footballer Fermín López reclining on a deckchair, England player Ollie Watkins golfing in his hotel room, and World Cup winner (and World Cup final man of the match) Ferran Torres reclining in a swimming pool full of ice cubes. Now, the US-based label has given us an even closer look at the Rest Less mindset, courtesy of an immersive activation at the fictional Hotel Armouré in Marbella. The experience spanned a whole week in late July on Marbella’s Golden Mile, seeing athletes, musicians, style experts and adventure enthusiasts from across Europe descend on a luxurious private villa. Some of the notable guests included UFC star and Under Armour athlete Paddy Pimblett, Under Armour footballer and YouTuber Tekkerz Kid, and fellow YouTuber (and Rest Less campaign star) Sharky. Under Armour Also checking in were the lifestyle influencers Molly Marsh and Romell Henry, and emerging musicians J Fado and Spencer Elmer, with style influencers Jaycee and Chloe Ellis bringing the fashion credentials to the villa. Not to mention the London-based stylist Trez, who kitted guests out in looks from Under Armour’s AW26 collection, while sports presenter Nicole Holliday hosted the whole experience. You might still be wondering what a week long stint of time off looks like for a high-performance athlete, though. Well, the Hotel Armouré itinerary did feature some more laid-back features like intimate dinners, but the relaxation never lasted long. True to the Rest Less spirit, the long summer days played host to jet ski excursions, quad biking, padel tournaments, and more. It was even rounded out by a surprise set from the rising London-based DJ Tommy Gold. Take a look at some highlights from Under Armour’s Hotel Armouré in the gallery above.
