For Autumn/Winter 2010, the new dress collection introduces a new juxtaposition of structure and fluidity
Inspired by the celluloid stills of film noir femme fatales and detective characters of the 1940s, texture played an integral role in Beckham’s new collection. As evident in
the wool crepes, gloss raffias and twill fabrics juxtaposed with liquid jersey, matte gazar and French lamé chiffon, flourishes of
varying textures were used inventively.
Metallic jacquard wool and a custom-designed pixilated print were featured whilst draping also played a noticeable role. The models walked out in an array of intensified palettes in emerald, sapphire and sanguine; neutrals against the bolder hues gave the collection balance.
