Eckhaus Latta’s AW20 models wore vintage Prada, Chanel, and Gucci shoes

A partnership with The RealReal saw the New York label promote circular fashion this season

With the likes of Puppets & Puppets, Collina Strada, and Proenza Schouler all having presented their AW20 offerings, there are just a handful of shows left to see at New York Fashion Week. Showing last night was one of Dazed’s favourite labels, Eckhaus Latta, which debuted its latest collection.

Taking over what was once an Abercrombie & Fitch store, on the line-up for the new season was a typically colourful edit of knitted tops and matching trousers, acid-washed denim in the form of laced corsets and jeans, and boxy, cropped blazers paired with pleated mini-skirts, as worn by the likes of Paloma Elsesser and Jacob Bixenman.

Rounding the looks off, however, was something new for the brand. Partnering with luxury online retailer The RealReal, all the shoes featured in the show were vintage, with pre-owned Prada, ChanelGucci, Fendi, and Manolo Blahnik styles all making their way down the catwalk.

“(We) saw an opportunity to reuse existing footwear in place of footwear that is produced largely for the purpose on a 15-minute runway show,” co-founder Zoe Latta told Vogue of the label’s decision to feature pre-worn shoes, adding that their inclusion was a way to “start a conversation about reducing waste and extending the life cycle of fashion.”

The shoes featured in the presentation will also be available to purchase through a capsule sale on The RealReal’s website later today.
