The Fiorucci Cherub comes to life in a new campaign

adidas Originals and Fiorucci have joined forces on a third collaboration for AW19

Earlier this year, adidas Originals debuted its first two collaborations with Fiorucci, the cult Italian label founded in 1967 by Elio Fiorucci. The superbrand celebrated its heyday in the 1970s and 1980s – loved by everyone from Madonna and Grace Jones to Keith Haring – and made a welcome comeback in 2017, with a new lease of life injected into graphic prints, oversized denim jackets, and skin tight PVC trousers.

Another signature marking Fiorucci’s return was the re-emergence of its iconic logo: two serene-looking cherubs, nestled on a cloud. In the third partnership between adidas Originals and Fiorucci for AW19, the Fiorucci angels meet with the trefoil logo and stripes, as part of a range of vibrant sportswear, casualwear, accessories, and footwear.

The AW19 collab is built around mix and match track pants, tights, leggings, cropped track tops, and hoodies printed with graphic typography, made using suitably retro materials such as terry cloth and matte satin. T-shirts and socks are splashed with the angelic logo, and it also decorates accessories such as PVC tote bags and belt bags, and leaves finishing touches on footwear (which feature a novel cherub-shaped zip closure).

The campaign itself – shot by Charlotte Hadden – brings the Fiorucci cherub to life, with one of the models even dressed in their very own pair of white feather angel wings.

The collection is available now and you can check out the campaign in the gallery above.
