Cooperative Designs have taken over the
Browns
Focus windows with their signature strip knit dresses, featured in
their debut collection for London Fashion Week. The design duo,
Annalisa Dunn and Dorothee Hagemann came together upon completion of
their Central St Martin's MA in womenswear “We shared the same creative
vision and when our course came to its end we decided to join forces
and create a Cooperative”. Inspiration for the collection comes from
Ettore Sottsass, head of the Milan based design collective called
Memphis who were particularly prevalent in the 1980s. And the use of
bold primary colours in stripe format, which translate to fine and
chunky hand knits in figure hugging floor length numbers and thigh
skimming body conscious dresses.
"Browns
picked us up in our first season, and they have been so supportive, it
is really exciting to be featured in their window, especially with our
first catwalk collection. Its a real honour. We have also had a window
recently with legendary New York department store Henri Bendel, on 5th
Avenue, for whom we designed a capsule collection for Spring Summer 09."
Cooperative Designs present their S/S 10 collection at London Fashion Week this coming September.
