Inside Willy Vanderperre’s new Prada book

A sneak peek at the Dazed favourite’s new photobook detailing the label’s AW16 collections

To celebrate Prada’s AW16 men’s and women’s runway shows, Miuccia’s label has collaborated with photographer and Dazed favourite Willy Vanderperre for a multifaceted project.

Vanderperre, one of the fashion industry’s most acclaimed photographers, has long been a collaborator with fellow Belgian Raf Simons, releasing a box of prints with the former Dior designer earlier this year. Having shot numerous times for Dazed, he most recently captured Paul Hameline backstage at Prada’s AW16 menswear show for the spring/summer 2016 cover.

This latest project with Prada, dubbed dis-dressed Redux, consists of a specially published, limited-edition photobook and a window display at Paris store The Broken Arm. Taken backstage at the show, the series of photographs feature Hameline and fellow Prada model Abiah Hostvedt, and give an insight into the collections’ aesthetics and references.

For AW16 menswear, there were troubled waters to navigate, with the collection referencing mankind’s struggles on the high seas in light of problems of war, migration and ecological threat. Likewise, the season’s womenswear collection journeyed through a kaleidoscopic show of femininity, awash with corsetry, tweed and sailors’ hats.

Dis-dressed Redux is on display at The Broken Arm in Paris from June 20 to July 6
