Missoni AW14

Urban bohemians in sartorial blankets of astrakhan, fleece and wool in autumnal colour

TextSusie LauPhotographyPaolo Musa

Initial reaction:

Urban bohemian looks to oversized and tactile dressing for comfort, borrowing outdoors-appropriate hooded jackets, cargo trousers and parkas from her lumberjack boyfriend.

The colours:

Autumnal shades of burnt orange and mustard yellow as well as nature derived hues of blue and green.

The feel of it:

Astrakhan bodices, fleecy jackets, booked wool coats and space dyed ribbed sweaters – everything was about touchy feely textures that have dominated the shows thus far. We wonder why fashion is turning to these sartorial security blankets.

How they wore it:

Messy buns, utility belts and trapper hats suggest this Missoni woman is rolling up her sleeves and getting on with it.

Polygon shaped lacquered metal pieces appliquéd onto tweed jackets.
