Salvatore Ferragamo SS14

A Highland Fling without the tartan, as Ferragamo shows kilt skirts and cropped jackets

TextSusie LauPhotographyPaolo Simi

Initial reaction:

Highland fling stripped down to the bare essentials.

School uniforms – yet much more cool, crisp and badass than ours.

Stand out looks:

Python skin cropped jackets - restrained accent moments in the sea of blush pink, white and cream.

Can't go to a Ferragamo show without mentioning the shoes. They showed that knee high boots weren't just for the winter season.

Can't stop staring at:

All the Chinese celebrities looking prim n' proper in head-to-toe Ferragamo looks.

Most likely to:

Be the military uniform of a chic and polished brigade who know luxury like the back of their hand.

Least likely to:

Grace a real highland fling.  There may have been plenty of kilt skirts and dresses but there was not a trace of tartan.

A kicky mix track listing, which included How Soon is Now? By The Smiths, to Jon Hopkins' Open Eye Signal and rousing score The Rendez-Vous by Alexandre Desplat.

Model behaviour:

Chiharu Okunugi has been killing the shows this season but she stole the best look in Salvatore Ferragamo.

Left us wanting:

To get our pleat on.
