Celebrating Sophie Hulme x Globe Trotter, the designer shares what will be in her suitcase this fashion week
You'll have seen Sophie Hulme's bags, even if you don't know it. The structured leather numbers with serious gold hardware have been a runaway hit since their introduction, satisfying for their signature aesthetic and lack of in-your-face branding. The designer, who jostles with the biggest houses on concept boutique and department store shelves worldwide, is a self-confessed collector – and it manifests in the gilded chip forks, toy soldiers and dinosaur charms she uses to embellish her jewellery and ready to wear. The Londoner has most recently collaborated with distinguished British suitcase brand Globe-Trotter, redesigning the handle for the first time in their history and adding a touch of that fabled hardware.
With fashion week approaching, Dazed Digital asked Hulme what she'll be packing in her own Globe-Trotter...
Vintage organiser and Smythson notebook
I've got an amazing 1920's leather organiser with loads of sections for sketches/tickets/invites.
Sophie Hulme Dino mohair jumper
It's so easy to wear and makes an outfit.
Amazing and cheap, stops me looking quite so tired!
Sophie Hulme mini envelope bag
A good size to carry with you all the time.
YSL Touche Éclat and Bare Minerals make-up
I need it over fashion weeks!
Vitamin C sachets
I bought some hardcore ones in LA, they keep you going.
Pair of Chloé heels
To dress up anything and they’re so comfortable, which is important for running around.
I read lots of books on prison reform because I work with a charity for it. It's also not related to fashion which is good sometimes.
It takes great pictures and I've got it in a leather carry case that I got made by an amazing guy in Italy.
I love them. Steve McQueen wore them so they've got to be good!
