Fashion / Model BehaviourModel Behaviour: Ava SmithWe caught up with the American model following her shoot in the June issue of Dazed & ConfusedShareLink copied ✔️June 13, 2012FashionModel BehaviourText Dazed Digital Ava Smith Ava Smith hails from Chicago and has been modelling since 2005. In Dazed's June issue, she is the third protagonist in make-up artist Yadim's Rene Gruau homage, photographed by Dan Jackson and styled by fashion director Karen Langley. She has walked catwalks for designers including Creatures of the Wind, Anthony Vaccarello, Hussein Chalayan, Céline and Hermès. Dazed Digital: What five things would you take into outer space?Ava Smith:1. A boombox.2. A kitten.3. Ice pops.4. An encyclopedia.5. Another person for company.DD: Where is your favourite place on earth?Ava Smith: My favourite place is ANY new place, I lose interest if I'm not constantly stimulated by somewhere new and novel. I really don't have a lot of places I go to all the time, that would get really boring.DD: How was the shoot you did for the issue with Karen Langley and Dan Jackson? Do you have a favourite memory from it?Ava Smith: Everyone was really goofy, I like that. It's our job so of course we need to take it seriously but I think you can do a good job without being rigid and uptight. If you consider fashion photography an art, which I do, you need to be lenient and let everyone bring their own to the photo, it's something you can't be completely in control of. I think that lack of control freaks a lot of people out but Dan and Karen were totally cool. The whole shoot was a good memory.DD: What's been the greatest thing that's happened to you since you started modelling?Ava Smith: I met my crazy booker Roman and life just hasn't been the same since..DD: Tell us something we wouldn't expect of you...Ava Smith: Not really appropriate for most situations but I can rip some some ill burps. I would have to consider myself an exceptional belcher! Escape the algorithm! Get The DropEmail address SIGN UP Get must-see stories direct to your inbox every weekday. Privacy policy Thank you.
