Pleats? Yes please. Issey Miyake’s latest collection developed a distinct neo-hippy look, whilst paying homage to the house’s pleatful talent. The show kicked off with a recurrent pair of ankle-revealing, intricately creased trousers, worn with neon turquoise and purple turtle necks, cut a tad loose. Jumpsuits in deep purple were paired with neon lime zipped cardigans, wide pants came with elasticised hemlines, striped, boiled wool jackets and comfortable trainers all contributed to the same modern-day flower child silhouette.
The arrival of suit jackets and matching wide leg pants refined the silhouettes – yet the tweed inserts created a cheeky trompe l’oeil effect. Whilst the coats, capes, duffle-coats, and dramatic deconstructed puffa jackets, will keep wearers both warm and noticed.
