Since 2001 the Dutch Fashion Foundation has promoted the Dutch Touch campaign, aimed at opening new markets to talented young fashion designers from The Netherlands. Milan’s White has dedicated an exclusive space to Spijkers & Spijkers, Mattijs, Marcha Hüskes, Hans Ubbink and Klavers van Engelen, giving the Dutch Touch designers the chance to introduce to fashion professional their collections.

Inspired by Greek myths and legends, Mattjis’s presented a collection dedicated to brave and strong women who are not afraid of adding a touch of glamour to their styles; Marcha Hüskes combined practical and chic creations all characterised by a sophisticated cut; Hans Ubbink dreamt about Parisian painters, sculptors and ‘60s rockers and came up with a collection based on volumes that paid great attention to details; Spijkers & Spijkers dedicated instead their collection to independent women such as Elsa Schiaparelli and Madeleine Vionnet, basing their designs on geometrical lines that highlight the silhouette of the female body; lightness was the main theme of Niels Klavers and Astrid van Engelen’s collection that featured outfits in silk, jersey and crêpe georgette.
