The new collection was full of fun and frolics with striking canary yellow jackets and patent leather accessories, big hair and summery detailing
This season for Mulberry the collection was clearly inspired by the seaside, it was ice creams, fun fairs and inflatable toys that decked out the Claridges Ballroom. Back combed big hair, windswept straight from a walk on the pier, was seen on almost all models, with luxe canary yellow cagoules and matching yellow patent bayswater bag opening the show. Contrast sleeve knitted pieces then made an appearance, as did nude coloured leather skirts with a rope tie waist and a fish tail parka in beautiful soft silk. The canary yellow made further appearances in the form of a two piece hooded jacket and skirt combination and then as a chiffon pleated full length skirt, teamed with sand coloured soft nappa leather cropped sleeve parka.
Colour block dresses then came through in yellows, beige, greens and pink and a zebra print silk t-shirt added a sense of fun. Floral and seashell motifs backed up the summery seaside feel, appearing as lace pieces and in knitwear. The seashells appeared again on a number of this seasons reworked Mulberry classic bags, embellishing various different editions. Closing the show was a umber of more organic looking garments, with linen tailoring. As a complete departure to the rest of the show, the final looks included full glass bead work and super glam gold bomber jackets and skirts.
