A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio on the 16th brings buried emotional material to the surface

We begin May in the sensual, artistic sign of Taurus. Taurus is known for its earthy, grounded energy, and innate ability to tune into the beauty of the natural and material. In Taurus season, we focus on drawing things towards us that have value, reflecting on our sense of self-worth, and embracing what makes us feel beautiful. Despite the desire to slow down and veg out, the astrological climate is one of immense change, with Eclipse season in full swing.

Pleasure planet Venus enters Aries on the 3rd, imbuing an energy of romantic potential, keeping us spontaneous and driven in our relationships but also making us impulsive and impatient. We are repulsed by boredom and eager to rush into new connections. Watch out for booty calls, particularly as Mercury retrogrades in Gemini on the 11th, inviting the usual text from an ex and miscommunication. As always with Mercury retrograde, old rules apply – don’t sign contracts or overcommit. Mercury retrograde in Gemini can highlight people’s duplicity and show us where those around us talk the talk but don’t walk the walk.

A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio on the 16th brings buried emotional material to the surface. Eclipses have a tendency to eclipse people, circumstances and things out. Scorpio is all about intimacy and transformation, and can highlight where we have abandoned our own self worth in order to experience closeness with someone. On the 21st, the Sun joins Mercury retrograde in Gemini. Gemini season highlights our need to communicate. We are eager for versatility, discussion and movement. We are done with seeking stability, it’s time to follow curiosity and experiences that tell an interesting story. The Sign of the Twins is known for its desire to move and socialise but remember, with Mercury retrograde, mishaps and delays can make us frustrated.

We conclude the month with Mars joining the party in Aries, and Venus entering its home turf of Taurus. This imbues all signs with a boost of vitality, energy and excitement. This is the energy of new beginnings, and bestows us with a much needed physical push towards starting projects. A New Moon in Gemini on the 29th encourages all signs to examine their personal storytelling, and lay down intentions for their inner monologue and communicative patterning.
