Time to refocus and reorganise: your September 2020 beauty horoscope

TextGrace McGradeIllustrationGabrielle Rosenstein

As we enter Virgo season, we become more pragmatic and take the time to tend to our mind-body connection with clarity and focus

Grace McGrade is an intuitive astrologer and priestess based in Los Angeles. She is the co-founder of ASTRAL ORACLES and author of Palpable Magic; a website exploring prose about sex, love, Los Angeles and the occult. Her sessions include natal chart readings, energetic clearing and activations, and tarot readings.

September has us reorganising and taking inventory of our actions, as we begin the month with the Sun in Virgo. As we depart Leo season, having had our fix of downtime and play, we are ushered towards taking greater responsibility in September. In the pragmatic, organised sign of Virgo, we are beckoned to direct our actions to best suit our worldly duties.

The diligent and hardworking sign of Virgo represents our desire for improvement, and we are pushed to tend to our mind-body connection, hone in on personal wellness and the necessary tasks ahead with diligent focus. Despite the fogginess and uncertainty of 2020, September brings us the leap forward in clarity and focus in what needs to be handled in our daily lives. Virgo reminds us to tend to our to-do list, to lend an ear to our bodies and make necessary changes towards greater health and longevity. We are encouraged to seek routine and order over chaos.

The month begins with the final full moon of the Summer on September 1, in the final sign of Pisces. The planets are helping us surrender and release all that interferes with our pursuit of health, with a compassionate energy of completion and forgiveness. As we surrender the reins on the big picture, and instead tune our focus towards our personal pursuit of wellness, we are pleasantly surprised by the gifts September brings.

On September 9, War planet Mars stations retrograde, putting a bit of damper on our physical vitality and giving us the urge to slow our roll. Expect some insight over our fight or flight responses when it comes to conflict. We are encouraged to carefully examine what we are fighting for.
