This Sunday in London, make-up artist Lynski is bringing the beauty community together to support Ukraine

London’s beauty community is coming together to support Ukraine with an epic fundraising event. Taking place this Sunday (May 1), EAST4UKR will host all your favourite creatives, including Janina Zais, Keisuke Watari and Anh Hoang, who will be donating their products and talents to the cause – think live tutorials, beauty treatments, performances, DJ sets, and stalls selling clothing and accessories from the hottest young designers.

The event is being organised by make-up artist and Dazed 100-er Lynski, who was inspired by the work activist Edgar Dubrovskiy is doing by managing volunteer groups in Ukraine. “I realised that I had to do something and it is more than possible,” says Lynski, who has family in the country. “I have so many friends in the industry, they are amazingly talented people with the biggest hearts and I thought together we can definitely make a change. There just needed to be a catalyst and I knew it had to be me.”

All the money from the proceeds will be donated, with 50 per cent going to the organisation Monstrov Odessa and 50 per cent going to Dubrovskiy’s efforts dedicated to delivering on-the-ground supplies to people in need, such as single mothers and elderly citizens.

The schedule for the event is jam-packed. Get your hair done at the dream pop-up salon where your stylists are Zais, Watari, Benjamin David and FKA twigs favourite Louis Souvestre. Dominic Cadogan will be hosting a workshop on Euphoria-esque make-up, and John Foley, who created two custom fragrances for the event, will teach everyone the right way to smell perfume. Martin Kelly is giving tattoos while Hoang is offering her amazing nail art talents.

Designers Dilara Findikoglu, Paloma Wool, Poster Girl, Miista and more have donated some amazing pieces for the stalls, and prints will be available from photographers including Harley Weir, John Yuyi, Steph Wilson, Maisie Cousins and Felicity Ingram. In the evening there will be drinks and music with a performance from Jockstrap and DJ sets.

Aiming to raise awareness as well as money, Lynski says it has been beautiful to see all the creative community come together for the event. “The reason why we have these amazing artists on board is that they all want to help and everyone is ready to donate their skills and time to make it work,” she says. “We have access to media that can help spread the word. If we can help at least one person in Ukraine I consider the goal to be reached.”

EAST4UKR is taking place from 12pm - 10pm at The Rubicon, 67 Vyner St, Cambridge Heath, London, E2 9DQ. Find out more information here.
