The JVN Beauty channel will feature ‘hair, skincare, and beauty, both inside and out’
Jonathan Van Ness has officially launched a beauty-centred YouTube channel: JVN Beauty.
The grooming expert – who rose to fame from their beauty and self-care tips on Queer Eye and now hosts their own podcast “Getting Curious” – opened the channel last Thursday (June 24).
“I'm so excited to launch my new YouTube channel, JVN Beauty, with everyone,” they said in a statement. “I've learned so much from so many people throughout my career in the beauty industry. I wanted to create a space to share and learn together about hair, skincare and beauty, both inside and out.”
According to Van Ness – who worked full-time as a hairdresser for 12 years before appearing on TV – JVN Beauty is a “real homecoming”. The channel’s first video sees the TV star cutting their husband’s hair, alongside cute conversations about their relationship, British culture, and ‘sensual mullets’... because what else? So far, the channel is set to feature JVN cutting more of their friends and family members’ hair, as well as their own.
As a non-binary person and creator of an inclusive hair-care brand coming soon, the hair guru explained that the channel will be a space where everyone, at all skill levels, can engage with beauty practices. “I want this to be a beauty space where everyone feels welcome,” they said.
