Cardi B goes full Cindy Lou Who with her dreamy candyland pink hair

Tokyo Stylez has done it again

Tokyo Stylez is on fire. Fresh off creating some of the best hot girl hair in the supersized chainlink pony for Cardi B in her new video for “WAP”, the hairstylist served a candyland pink, gravity-defying look for the rapper. 

The look sees Cardi with two heart-shaped bunches, her braids looped around the base and up the sides to create a scalloped edge. The pastel pink creation looks like it was dreamt up in Cindy Lou Who’s wildest fantasies. Cardi posted a video of the look to her 74 million Instagram followers, asking them directly if they liked the hair. Cardi herself seemed to be digging it, posting a number of stories modelling the sculpture-like hair, as well as some behind-the-magic footage of Stylez at work.

If you want to recreate the look for yourself, you are in luck because Stylez shared her process of achieving the style including the Joico colour formulas she used. Starting with platinum cool level 10 human hair wig from LenaLux, Stylez then used, in order: Prep Treatment: Defy Damage ProSeries 1, Bond-Protecting Color Optimizer, Formula 1 (Base Color): Color Intensity ¾ Blush + ¼ Rose, Formula 2 (Hearts Medium Pink): Color Intensity Blush + Rose Gold, Formula 3 (Hearts Lightest Pink): Color Intensity Blush, and Post Treatment: Defy Damage ProSeries 2: Bond-Strengthening Color Treatment.

Cardi is currently celebrating the success of “WAP”, her recent single with Megan Thee Stallion which is topping charts around the world and sparking a lot of debate around women’s sexuality and their agency to express it. It also got a shout out from everyone’s favourite congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who redubbed the song “Women Against Patriarchy” earning her an enthusiastic presidential endorsement from Cardi. The rapper also interviewed actual presidential candidate Joe Biden.
