The new short film is unapologetically Black and sees the musician pay homage to traditional African styles
While most of you were peacefully asleep, probably dreaming of a life post-COVID-19, Beyoncé was making the world anew, finally dropping her short film Black Is King exclusively on Disney+.Â
It’s a term you’ll probably hear used endlessly to describe it, but it can’t be called anything other than a visual feast and when Beyoncé puts food on the table you thank her for feeding you.Â
The 90-minute film gives you everything you could possibly want – music, stunning visuals, choreography, history, Black excellence in the form of Naomi Campbell, Lupita Nyong’o, Tina Knowles, and Kelly Rowland, and more fashion and beauty looks than a single person could wear in a lifetime.Â
Rather than giving you an encyclopedic catalogue of every single hair, make-up, and nail look we thought it would be better to highlight the most extra ones. Though, somehow Beyoncé manages to look like she woke up like this – probably because she did.
