Black Is King

Beyoncé’s most OTT beauty looks from Black is King

The new short film is unapologetically Black and sees the musician pay homage to traditional African styles

While most of you were peacefully asleep, probably dreaming of a life post-COVID-19, Beyoncé was making the world anew, finally dropping her short film Black Is King exclusively on Disney+.

It’s a term you’ll probably hear used endlessly to describe it, but it can’t be called anything other than a visual feast and when Beyoncé puts food on the table you thank her for feeding you.

The 90-minute film gives you everything you could possibly want – music, stunning visuals, choreography, history, Black excellence in the form of Naomi Campbell, Lupita Nyong’o, Tina Knowles, and Kelly Rowland, and more fashion and beauty looks than a single person could wear in a lifetime.

Rather than giving you an encyclopedic catalogue of every single hair, make-up, and nail look we thought it would be better to highlight the most extra ones. Though, somehow Beyoncé manages to look like she woke up like this – probably because she did.
