‘This is the hair of every boy who has ever quoted Rimbaud at a party’
Fresh off his Dalston fuckboy monk hairstyle in the trailer for the upcoming adaptation of Shakespeare’s Henriad plays, The King, Timmy Chalamet’s hair is back at it again and this time it’s channelling everyone’s favourite pretentious second year English Lit student.
The hair in question appears in the first trailer for Greta Gerwig’s much-anticipated Little Women film which was released yesterday. The eighth cinematic adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s novel, Little Women follows the journey of four sisters (here played by Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh and, Eliza Scanien) coming of age in the aftermath of the American Civil War.
Chalamet takes the role of Laurie, the roguish boy next door and hopeless romantic, and his French-poet-in-a-windstorm hair is causing people a lot of strong feelings. Journalist Rachel Syme summed it up best when she tweeted: “This is the hair of every boy who has ever quoted Rimbaud at a party.” Many people agreed with Syme, contributing their own encounters with lit-quoting individuals.

Others were mesmerised by the perfection of Timmy's luscious locks, taking both inspiration and pleasure from the windblown mane.
that scene with the fluffy timothee chalamet hair? perhaps it awakened something in me— Tanvi (@rosegoldmoon) August 13, 2019
That hair is like butter cream chocolate icing.— Caroline Carrigan (@carcarrigan) August 14, 2019
Meanwhile, TV critic Jen Chaney was so overcome she was ready to start campaigning on behalf of the hair.
