Rihanna’s baby doppelgänger has landed her first beauty modelling gig

TextAlex Peters

What were you doing at seven?

A few weeks ago, the internet was wowed when Rihanna posted what many thought was a FaceApp-altered picture of herself on social media but what actually turned out to be a photo of a young lookalike of the singer. The uncanny resemblance shocked and amazed people and the image soon went viral, racking up over seven million likes on Instagram and almost 100k retweets on Twitter. The young girl was quickly revealed as seven-year-old Ala’a Skyy, and almost immediately modelling offers began flooding in, including from America’s Next Top Model’s very own Tyra Banks.

And now, Skyy has scored her first major modelling contract as an ambassador for Mane Choice, a hair-care brand focused on natural texture. The seven-year-old, who’s Instagram account (run by mum) now boasts 140k followers, announced the news in a video in which young Skyy excitedly says she can’t wait to use the brand’s products “Tropical Moringa” accompanied by a caption expressing her gratitude.

“Be prepared to receive exactly what you put out into the universe! Nothing happens by accident! It’s all apart of #GodsPlan. One day you are using your favorite products because you love them and the next day you are using your favorite products and become their newest ambassador at the same time! Dreams really do come true, if you believe YOU deserve them!”

In a statement to Allure, Mane Choice founder and CEO Courtney Adeleye said of the decision to work with Skyy, “Not only does she have an amazing attitude and work ethic at such a young age, she also loves her hair.”

In her first commitment for the brand, the young Skyy appeared for a meet and greet (in a Versace dress no less) at LA’s BeautyCon this weekend. Not bad for someone still losing their baby teeth! Skyy doesn’t seem to be resting on her laurels, however, and has set her sights on the stars, namely – Fenty. Posting on her Instagram, Skyy wrote, “#FentyKids x #AlaaSkyy ..... a girl can dream can’t she? 😂”

Stay tuned!
