Pat McGrath taps Violet Chachki and Liz Hurley’s son Damian for campaign

Shot by Steven Meisel, the campaign for Pat’s new foundation is everything you could hope for and more

It’s official. Violet Chachki is fashion’s newest It Girl. Last month, the Drag Race superstar closed Moschino’s horror-filled Pre-SS20 show and now the inimitable queen is back, this time staring in Pat McGrath’s fierce new campaign.

Shot and directed by Steven Meisel, the campaign for Pat McGrath Labs’ latest offering – a skin collection which includes foundation – sees Chachki dressed to the nines and beat for the gods as she strikes a pose alongside a diverse and boundary-pushing cast including Damian Hurley (son of Liz), Sonjdra Deluxe, Zhengyang Zhang, Shanelle Nyasiase, Blesnya Mihner, and Primose Archer.

"Violet is a fabulously disruptive style icon who's distorting the gender binary," McGrath told Vogue. "Violet embodies the epitome of vixenish vintage glamour with her velvety skin and beguiling burlesque aesthetic."

It would appear that the feelings are mutual, with Chachki gushing over her idol: “I really became obsessed with Pat when Galliano was still with Dior and it was all about fantasy. The beauty looks she created at Dior will forever be a wealth of inspiration for me. They were a turning point for my creativity and my first step into high drag.”
