Rihanna sends SZA Fenty gift card after Sephora racial profiling scandal

TextOlivia Edwardes

“Sephora Sandy”, your days are numbered

Three weeks ago, SZA took to Twitter to speak out about an incident that took place at a Sephora in Calabasas where the singer was accused of stealing Fenty Beauty products.

“Lmao Sandy Sephora location 614 Calabasas called security to make sure I wasn’t stealing,” she tweeted, “Can a b—h cop her fenty in peace er whut.”

Sephora was quick to respond (they should be, considering SZA used to work there) tweeting SZA directly saying, “You are a part of the Sephora family, and we are committed to ensuring every member of our community feels welcome and included in our stores.”

Fans were out for blood, citing racial profiling and demanded the Sephora worker who had called security, now dubbed ‘Sephora Sandy’, to be fired, calling for the brand to undergo a full investigation. Sephora released an official statement to the Huffington Post on May 1 saying “We take complaints like this very seriously, profiling on the basis of race is not tolerated at Sephora. Our purpose has always been rooted in our people and ensuring that Sephora is an inclusive and welcoming space for all our clients.”

Now, Rihanna, Queen of everything, was waded into battle, sending SZA a Fenty Beauty gift card, with a handwritten note saying, ‘Go buy yo Fenty Beauty in peace sis! One love – Rihanna.’.

Amen.
