The singer will be working closely with Peter Philips in new role
Jorja Smith is going from strength to strength. Fresh off a Best New Artist nomination at the Grammys, the velvet-voiced singer known for her flawless complexion has been announced as Dior’s new global make-up ambassador.
Taking to Instagram to speak of the news, Smith wrote “Little 14 year old J would not have even thought about this while stealing my mom’s mascaras. Such an honour to be part of such an incredible house.”
This is not the first time the musician and fashion house have collaborated. Last year, Smith performed at Dior’s annual Guggenheim International Gala pre-party in New York. Speaking then to Vogue, Maria Grazia Chiuri said of Smith, “Jorja represents my idea of the Dior woman because she’s young and is incredibly focused on her goals, and isn’t afraid to let her voice be heard.” The feeling was clearly mutual, with Smith full of praise for the house, “Dior has always been a brand I’ve loved, it’s really tuned in with young creatives and what we want at the moment, both in terms of fashion and beauty.”
In her new role, Smith will be working closely with creative and image director for Dior Makeup, Peter Philips, lending her “modern freshness” to upcoming editorial and digital projects, according to the brand.
