The best beauty looks from New York Fashion Week AW19

TextAlex Peters

This season in New York saw everything from rhinestone face masks to baby fringes to technicolour dream wigs. See our round-up of the best beauty looks for AW19

Clemens Telfar showed an Americana collection inspired by black cowboys this season. Beauty looks at the truly inclusive and diverse show were done by Susie Sobol who created "red wine mouths" and beautiful skin that seemed to glow from within.

The glitz was turned to high at Area this season. Models were dripping in crystals, with rhinestone-lattice face masks and jewelled braids created by Dazed Beauty contributing editor Jawara, while Jen Myles' make-up was kept minimal.

Eckhaus Latta

For Eckhaus Latta's AW19 collection this season, models walked the runway with colourful airbrushed masks created by our creative director Isamaya Ffrench and her trusty airbrusher. Hair by Holli Smith, meanwhile, was kept naturally loose and wavy.

This season Vaquera asked themselves what happens when furniture meets fashion? The beauty looks were inspired by fanciful regency styles, merging chaotic bed head hair by Cyndia Harvey with glossy lined lips and subdued white eye make-up created by Emi Kaneko.

Gauntlett Cheng

At Gauntlett Cheng dark eye make-up by Marcelo Gutierrez and bedhead hair by Nero gave models that end-of-the-party-haven’t-been-home-in-a-few-days vibe.

Tomo Koizumi

After being discovered on Instagram by Katie Grand, Tomo Koizumi presented a collection of new and archival pieces in New York. The designer’s first catwalk show saw beauty heavyweights Guido Palau and Pat McGrath creating jagged baby fringes and dramatic, metallic purple eyeshadow looks to accompany the fantastical tulle creations that were sent down the runway on the likes of Bella Hadid, Rowan Blanchard and Gwendoline Christie.

Christian Cowan

Fluoro-hued frocks at Christian Cowan this season were accompanied by extreme make-up dreamed up by the brain of Isamaya Ffrench. Divine-esque glittering eye make-up, neon wig caps, and nails by the always amazing Mei Kawajiri, came together to create an electric look.

Anna Sui

Christened as her “Poptimism” collection, models this season at Anna Sui wore technicolour wigs inspired by iconic French actress Anna Karina’s wedding day hair, while Pat McGrath created a vibrant and multi-coloured 60s inspired make-up look.

Extensions were super-sized at R13’s grungy AW19 show which was inspired by thrift shop finds and Kurt Cobain. The long, messy styles were the work of hairstylist Guido Palau while make-up artist Diane Kendal created a look that was radically minimal.
