BTS rock pastel-hued hair at last night's Grammys

A year after Recording Academy President Neil Portnow told female artists ‘to step up’, at this year Grammy Awards women took centre stage. Presented by Alicia Keys, the first female presenter in 14 years, last night’s ceremony saw performances by Lady Gaga, Travis Scott, Diana Ross, Jennifer Lopez and a surprise appearance by former first lady Michelle Obama who presented a message on diversity and the need to value women. But enough of that, we know you’re here for the looks. From BTS’ pastel hued hair to Dua Lipa’s silver studded nails, here’s what went down.

Cardi B

During the performance of her hit song ‘Money’, the first woman to win the Best Rap Album awards rocked the stage in a short cut with ‘20s-inspired pin curls styled by tokyostylez while wearing a sheer cheetah-printed catsuit.

Showing us that the rainbow hair trend is still going strong was the seven-member strong South Korean pop group, BTS, who rocked various pastel hues from lilac and aquamarine to silver. The boy band, who are never afraid to play with their beauty look, launched their second make-up and skincare collection last year.

Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa brought the glamour last night with star-studded nails created by nail artist Kimmie Kyees. The extravagant jewelled talons were the perfect finish to her glittering silver dress and sparkling necklace.

Linda Perry

Nominated for producer of the year, the first female up for the award since 2004, Linda Perry walked the red carpet with dramatic purple smoky eyes and Queen of Heart lips, which she accessorised with a considerable hat and plenty of jewellery.

Janelle Monáe

Styled by hairstylist and headpiece artist Steve David, on the red carpet singer and actress Janelle Monae flaunted her hair in a braid that reached the middle of her back fastened with gold wire to match the safety pins that embellished her asymmetrical headpiece.

Long Hair

Long hair took centre stage last night with Jennifer Lopez, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Kacey Musgraves – who took home four Grammys – all rocking super-sized lengths. Chris Appleton created JLo’s lux ponytail which reached her famous derriere while Tracee Ellis Ross’s braids fell almost to her knees.
