With colour experts Pantone announcing Living Coral as the colour of 2019, we round up the best beauty products to help you tap into this trend
Colour experts Pantone have announced their colour of 2019 as Living Coral, described by the Pantone Color Institute as "an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energises and enlivens with a softer edge”.
The “Color of the Year” selection process involves extensive trend analysis by the Institute's colour experts who look to everything from the entertainment industry to socio-economic conditions to new technologies before arriving at their selection. “The Pantone Color of the Year has come to mean so much more than ‘what’s trending’ in the world of design,” Vice President Laurie Pressman says, “it’s truly a reflection of what’s needed in our world today.” The 2018 colour, Ultra Violet, was a call to arms for individuality and imagination. Think Prince, David Bowie, Jimmy Hendrix - all pioneers of the purple hue.
Living Coral, meanwhile, encourages us to stay spirited and sociable, welcoming lighthearted activity and human connection. “In reaction to the onslaught of digital technology and social media increasingly embedding into daily life, we are seeking authentic and immersive experiences that enable connection and intimacy," Pantone says. “Living Coral symbolises our innate need for optimism and joyful pursuits.”
