What were you doing at nine months old?
Last week, reality TV star turned make-up juggernaut, Kim Kardashian dropped her brand new collection Flashing Lights, which includes brightly coloured pressed and loose powder pigments. Historically, KKW Beauty has only realised nude-coloured cosmetics so this will be the first colourful make-up collection.
Up until this point, Kim’s been keeping things schtum, only breadcrumbing us with the occasional teaser post on her Instagram. So far we’ve been graced with near-naked snaps to promote what seems to be a deep purple eyeshadow. Shot by photographer David LaChapelle, all the images from the photoshoot that have been shared are steeped in religious symbolism. In one picture, Kim is shown with a tear streaming down her face, representing Mary's sadness after the death of Christ, and another photo, showing the reality star turned make-up entrepreneur holding a dove, symbolising peace, and pointing to the sky.Â
However, in her latest post, Kim holds her youngest child, Chicago, who was born earlier this year. Wearing nothing apart from pink eyeshadow, the image profoundly echoes depictions of Madonna and child.
This isn't the first time Kim has shared the spotlight with her children, having starred with eldest daughter North in a Fendi campaign earlier this year. Is this a future model in the making? Watch this space.Â
