Britney Spears revealed a never-before-seen tattoo on Instagram

The singer showed off the small Hebrew script ink alongside a new dancing post, because what else?

So far, Britney Spears’ Instagram has birthed compilations of her favourite nostalgic Y2K fashion moments, numerous chaotic dancing edits, calls for a socialist revolution, and plenty of grainy Pinterest quotes. Now, the pop legend has revealed a never-before-seen neck tattoo on her feed.

Facing away from the camera in a neon pink bodysuit and white knee-high gogo boots with a bright tan, the singer revealed the tattoo – a small black print of the words ‘Mem Hey Shin’ in Hebrew (which, according to Spears, translates to ‘healing’) on the back of her neck.

“Hot pink makes my tan pop !!!! Have you seen the tattoo on the back of my neck before ????” said Spears. “It's Hebrew, it’s a language written backwards !!!! It says Mem Hey Shin and means healing !!!! It's my favorite tattoo but ironically you never see it !!!!!”

Alongside the reveal, the singer posted a dancing video – this time in a leopard print catsuit purchased online. Perhaps inspired by her Hebrew ink, the video was edited backwards. “I’ve never gone backwards in a video before ... looks sort of different to me !!!!” explained the singer.

Some fans, however, speculated in the comments as to whether or not the selfie or video contained hidden messages when played in reverse – showing concern for the pop star’s wellbeing due to her decade-long conservatorship battle with her father, which Spears is set to testify for on June 23 in a Los Angeles court.

Other fans simply responded with support of the tattoo, besides the occasional ‘don’t forget your SPF, Britney!!’ comment. We’re here for it.

Check out the singer’s tattoo below.
