Harry Styles’ fans are thirsty for his ‘Golden’ music video nails

Recreations are already popping up of the golden manicure

Here at Dazed Beauty, we love boys who love nail polish. It’s a small way to rebel against stifling gender constructs and challenge standards of what is considered masculine and what is considered feminine and who can do what.

Harry Styles is one of these boys. A big proponent of a manicured set, he has in the past worn his nails with yellow smileys, rocked a fruit salad look, gone mint green and black for the Met Gala he hosted, and had a summery coral manicure (a shade by Salon Perfect called ‘Flamingo Flair’ in case you were wondering) for the “Watermelon Sugar” video.

Earlier today, Styles released the new music video for his latest single, album opener “Golden”. Set in Italy during what now feels like long-past summer days, the video sees Styles exploring, lounging, and frolicking around the Amalfi Coast. The summery, shimmery golden-hour vibe of the video is complemented by his fashion which includes billowing white shirts, sexy-fisherman ensembles, lace Gucci driving gloves and a lot of bare chest. His hair – you might be interested to know – is still the longer, cherubic style that is favoured by many heartthrobs and which Styles was sporting until recently when he chopped it all off.

As for his nails, they are alternating golden yellow and white silver and fans are Very Excited about them. “The nails. The hair. The setting. The aesthetic. The amazing camera shots. The Golden music video is ELITE TIER PEOPLE. ELITE TIER. HARRY IS SO COOL,” tweeted one fan, while another wrote “imagine harry styles looking at you like this, whilst wearing pretty golden nail polish with curly hair GOD IVE SEEN WHAT YOU DO FOR OTHERS.”

A Twitter update account for the musician simply wrote “I think we can all agree that Harry’s nails.” It has been retweeted over 16K times already.

A lot of fans were also inspired to recreate their own versions of the nail look. Despite the video having only been out for an hour, many people have already been sharing their Golden manicures. “Yes I copied Harry golden nails and what,” as one fan wrote. See below for more inspired looks and enthusiastic nail thirst.
