Dolly Parton

You will soon be able to smell just like Dolly Parton

TextAlex Peters

The singer revealed she is launching her own beauty line as well as how her nails played a pivotal role in one of her biggest hits

If you don’t love Dolly Parton you’re lying. And I urge you to watch Steel Magnolias immediately and contemplate why you hate joy. If you do love Dolly Parton (everyone), then I have some great news because soon, you will be able to smell just like her.

Speaking on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Dolly revealed that she is coming out with her very own line of perfumes, as well as wigs (major), and skincare. “People follow me down the street wanting to know what I’m wearing because they love the smell,” she told Fallon. “So I’m going to develop my own scent.” While she gave no indication on when this magical scent might be coming into our lives, she did suggest that when it comes to the name of the fragrance she’ll probably stick to a classic – ‘Dolly.’

In the same interview, we also find out that Dolly’s famous acrylic nails played a big part in her hit song “9 to 5”. After performing an impromptu rendition of the song, Dolly revealed that part of the chorus was actually played on her nails. “When I actually wrote this song, I used my acrylic nails on the set when I was writing it. I did because they make noise and it sounded like a typewriter to me,” she says. “I played it on the actual record, it says Nails by Dolly on the album!” she adds laughing. A queen.
