Diptyque is launching scented tattoos

TextAlex Peters

The Prêts-à-Parfumer collection also includes scented jewellery

Remember those temporary tattoos you used to love as a child? The ones you found in your gum wrappers and would dab on with a wet sponge. Well, they have just got a major-ly chic upgrade that will have you reaching for your piggy banks.

Diptyque, the luxury French scent brand has announced it’s branching out from its usual fragrances and signature candles with its latest product launch, the Prêts-à-Parfumer collection.

The collection will include perfumed jewellery (a brooch in the shape of a bird priced at £84 and a braided-thread bracelet at £64) and the tattoos, or stickers, which are also scented (five for £40). These black satin stickers, which the brand is calling “mobile diffusers,” come in a range of baroque-style motifs and are available in the scents Eau Rose (shaped like a rose), l’Ombre dans l’Eau (a swan) and Do Son (tuberose). The brooch can be inserted with three different solid perfumes, which fix in a small box at the back, in Do Son, Eau Rose and Fleur de Peau, while the perfumed bracelet is available in Do Son, Eau Rose and Tam Dao.

Diptyque is hoping that these new products, in particular, the stickers, will attract a younger clientele to the brand. “It’s part of our DNA and heritage to create playful new perfume gestures” Julien Gommichon, president of the Americas for Diptyque, told WWD.

The collection will be available from early September and sold on diptyqueparis.com and in Diptyque stores.
