Feminist icon Peaches on her brand new super sexy massage oil

TextAnya Angert

The feminist trailblazer and pop icon has teamed up with cult skincare brand Neighbourhood Botanicals to create a libido enhancing, mind relaxing massage oil

When it comes to convention, queer and feminist pop icon Peaches has never been one to follow the rules, whether that’s through her genre-defying music, which spans themes such as gender fluidity, sexual politics and the patriarchy, or her approach to beauty. Beauty is a confidence that brings out the most authentic part of a person,” she says. “I am challenging the ideas of classic beauty. Through music and performance, I can best put my idea of beauty into action. Bring out gorgeous sweat mess and sexy imperfections.”

Now, in an exciting collaboration with indie skincare brand Neighbourhood Botanicals, Peaches is coming out with a brand new massage oil. Launching on November 19th and sharing a name with the singer’s most acclaimed and boundary-breaking album Rub, Peaches’ first wellness product is a 100% natural, super sexy massage oil designed to stimulate the libido while relaxing the mind.

Rub came about after Peaches and Neighbourhood Botanicals owner Micaela Nisbet, who was working as Peaches’ sound person on tour, realised their shared desire to find time for self-love in the fast-paced world of rock’n’roll. “With the turned-up touring lifestyle, we realised it was going to be a way to help us survive by developing a calm and revitalising aromatic massage oil,” Peaches says. “The oil is for everyone who is open to massage or being massaged. We need to engage and enjoy each other. We need to stop stressing and help each other relax.”

Rich in skin-nourishing nutrients and vitamin E, RUB contains a blend of grapeseed, peach kernel and coconut oils, as well as black pepper which reinvigorates muscles and joints by increasing circulation, while the addition of Neroli helps stimulate libido.

A championing force in dismantling the myth of universal beauty, Peaches strives for a future of “people feeling comfortable and safe in their own skin. Feeling like they can express whatever makes them feel beautiful with no judgement.” We hope that this is just the beginning of the artist trying her hand at an industry which is in much need of healthier attitudes and that she continues to inject it with little doses of The Teaches of Peaches in her own weird and wonderful way.
