In pictures: the boldest beauty looks of London Fashion Week

From Mowalola and Sinéad O’Dwyer to Talia Byre and Feben, fast-rising photographic talent Chester McKee shares some BTS beauty photos from London Fashion Week AW23

London Fashion Week has come and gone for another season, leaving us with the memories of some dazzling beauty looks and a strong craving for the blue raspberry flavour of a Triple Power Push Pop

As in New York, we saw the residue of the Wednesday Addams revival on the runways in London, as designers like Roksanda and Harris Reed went vampy with dark lips, while blue eyeshadow cemented its comeback with appearances at Conner Ives, Dilara Fındıkoğlu and Richard Quinn. Models at Mowalola were given constellation complexions thanks to a multitude of fake freckles and fairy lights adorning their faces.

At Simone Rocha, red ribbons in the hair and on the face of models symbolised the blood that was traditionally painted on children’s faces to ward off bad spirits. For the hair, Cyndia Harvey created curled braids and ringlets which covered eyes, while at Yuhan Wang colourful ribbons were weaved into the braids for a romantic touch.

The circus has already moved on to Milan, where Glenn Martens flooded the runway with 200,000 condoms at Diesel. But before you turn your attention to the Italians completely, enjoy these behind-the-scenes peaks at some of our favourite beauty moments including Mowalola, Sinéad O’Dwyer, Talia Byre and Feben taken by underground photographer and idiosyncratic image-maker Chester McKee. And then read the full fashion round-up here.
