We are well and truly in the midst of a celebrity beauty brand epidemic.
Ariana Grande, Hailey Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Gwen Stefani are all reportedly set to join the likes of Kylie, Rihanna, Kim and Madonna with their own lines make-up or skincare brands, and now the list is getting even longer with Cardi B and Kendall Jenner also lining up for their piece of the beauty pie.
This week it was reported that Kendall Jenner may well be following in the footsteps of sisters Kylie and Kim after she filed for a beauty trademark for “Kendall” and “Kendall Jenner,” according to the US Patent and Trademark Office. The patents would cover possible products across skin, hair, make-up and fragrance, including eau de parfum, hair-care preparations, bath and shower gels, body creams, skin cleansers, beauty masks, deodorant, lip gloss, nail polish and nail care preparations, among others.
An eponymous brand would mark Kendall’s first solo foray into the beauty world although she has previously fronted Estée Launder’s short lived millennial-targeted range Estée Edits and is currently the face of Proactive and a hair styling range from Formawell Beauty. Sister Kylie also teased earlier this year that she was working with Kendall on a collaboration for her own billion dollar beauty brand Kylie Cosmetics.
Cardi B, meanwhile, has also hinted that her make-up line may be in the works. Speaking in an interview with Entertainment Online, Cardi was asked if her beauty line was coming soon to which she laughed and responded “very.” This would also mark Cardi’s beauty debut although last year Tom Ford did release a blue-hued lipstick named after the rapper which sold out in two days.
Elsewhere in beauty news, Kylie, arguably the OG celeb beauty brand founder of this new era, has expanded her empire into skincare with new range Kylie Skin. Launching on the 22nd of this month, the line will include a face wash, scrub, toner, serum, moisturiser and eye cream. Rihanna’s Fenty skincare is also reported to be in the works.
