Since making the move to the big apple, Gevinson has starred in her first Broadway production, This is Our Youth, appeared in Scream Queens, topped TIME magazine’s influential teen list and spoke out against the dangers of clickbait feminism. Gevinson’s apartment is everything we’d expect from the Rookie founder and more. Echoing the website’s aesthetic, the apartment is littered with notebooks (our personal favourite being titled People to Kill), journals, books casually gifted by Stevie Nicks and a cut-and-paste collection of artefacts and items close to her heart. Speaking about her home, Gevinson says, “it’s like a very adult thing having my own place, it feels like a fort. What I do here and why it’s so nice to have this space is because it’s just the same as me when I was 12 in my room just listening to records and watching movies and looking at books and and reading and ‘being a kid’. Just to be in my imagination, and sit around here and paint or do whatever, that’s why being in here is so important.” Watch the video below Escape the algorithm!
