The Victoria’s Secret model has allegedly been threatened by hackers who’ve accessed photos and videos from her iCloud
Supermodel Gigi Hadid has reportedly become the latest celebrity to have her iPhone hacked. According to TMZ, the new VS Angel has been contacted by hackers who claim they’ll sell photos and videos from her iCloud to the media unless she pays up.
Anonymous sources say Hadid is having none of it and has instead contacted the authorities. Reportedly, she’s hired a private security firm to investigate the breach of security and to catch the criminals behind the hack. She fully intends to prosecute. We’ve reached out to Gigi Hadid’s representation for comment but they’re yet to reply.
It’s unpleasantly reminiscent of “The Fappening”, the 4chan-led nude photo leak scandal of last year that targeted women in Hollywood, such as Jennifer Lawrence. Unfortunately, hackers are more than willing to violate female celebrities’ rights, naming and shaming them, exorting them for financial gain, unconcerned with the effect this has on their privacy or wellbeing. If this report is true, hopefully Hadid is able to crush the hackers before anything is released.
