Your porn habits could be about to become public

Enjoy a bit of weird, niche pornography? Well things might be about to get awkward for you

Most people are alright with admitting that they watch porn. After all, nearly 70% of young men watch it every week, followed by nearly 20% of young women. Most people probably wouldn't be okay with having the dark and dingy depths of their browsing history exposed to the world, though. Aside from all the obvious taboos, it could reveal the weird stuff – the things that, for whatever reason, a lot of people wouldn't be comfortable with anyone EVER knowing about.

That might not be the case for much longer, though. According to a tech expert Brett Thomas, anyone who views porn online – even in Incognito mode – is very likely to have their search history made public at some point. In an article posted on his website earlier this year, the software engineer listed all the very credible reasons why hackers will one day access and release anyone's X-rated viewing habits – and he's made a very compelling case.

“If a malicious party obtained identifiable access logs for just one of the websites that know your name, and view logs for just one of the adult websites you’ve visited, it could infer with very high probability - beyond plausible deniability - a list of porn you’ve viewed,” he explained. “At any time, somebody could post a website that allows you to search anybody by email or Facebook username and view their porn browsing history.”

And apparently, in our current age of privacy scandals and leaked information, accessing this information is actually a very easy thing to do – even if you think you've been safe by switching to Incognito or Private Browsing mode.

“All that’s needed are two nominal data breaches and an enterprising teenager that wants to create havoc,” he added. “If you are watching/viewing porn online in 2015, even in Incognito mode, you should expect that at some point your porn viewing history will be publicly released and attached to your name.”

Just a little something to consider.
