For most of us, being shot in the head would rank as a harrowing ordeal and our natural reaction would probably consist of screaming, calling the police and freaking the fuck out. However, when Compton rapper Teriq Royal was struck by stray fragments of shots fired from an AK-47, he saw an excellent Instagram opportunity and filmed himself, bloodsoaked, with bullets lodged in his head just centimetres away from his brain.
Understandably, Royal is clearly dazed in the film, stumbling across the forecourt of a petrol station saying "I just got shot". He is joined towards the end of the video by a friend who also appears to have been struck by bullets
After getting round to visiting hospital, Royal uploaded his X-ray to Facebook, an image that leaves no questions about just how lucky he was.
Royal – who speaks out regularly against guns online – also wrote: "Yes me and the homies got shot at couple days ago 💥🔫💥🔫 AK47 bullet flew past my head and I was hit with the bullet fragments , 3 frags stuck in my forehead for life . They stopped right on my skull before they could enter my brain ...
GOD IS REAL YALL ! ✊✨
I should've died that night but I felt God move me back just enough for the bullet to miss. Take this life shit serious ! I was almost on a T-shirt 👕💀 I'm just blessed enough to be here for a reason, can't nobody stop Gods plans."
