Do you feel the constraints of fashion shoot compared to when you’re making your own art?

I was totally against it at first. Slowly as I started working at Yale, I realised things were kinda changing. There’s this weird crossover. Nan Goldin, Roe Etheridge. All these people who make this amazing art and lend themselves to fashion. That’s how they pay all their bills. So I was open to it. It was hard at first. I came to New York and had nothing going… It’s gonna be a crazy life, like Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde. I could fully embrace it when I knew there was a place to show my art. I love both. Fashion can be so fun and so quick, it’s easily disposable. Maybe with my art I’ve already done that but with fashion, you can make this really cool story that looks awesome with people helping and working together but with my art, it’s like 'Everyone away!' and it's me, myself.
