Perched on hills overlooking the ocean, the perfectly located venue shows its revamped face to Tokyo's elite
An hour from central Tokyo's Shibuya is Zushi beach and the surrounding Hayama area. A well known retreat for Tokyo's wealthy during the gruesomely humid summer months, Hayama beach is an exotic beachside area with architecturally inspired houses nestled in the hillside.
Hayama Terrace is amongst the best of them, a Lynchian white sculptural building looking up over the ocean, it displayed its relaunched self to the best of Tokyo's music, art and fashion scenes. Satellite Voices went along with musician Joe Hood, model Angela Reynolds and illustrator Przemek Sobocki, to sample its famed French food and knock back a few (Bacardi sponsored) mojitos (Earl Grey mojito bizarrely amongst the offerings).
The restaurant and terrace are seriously beautiful and tucked away with the most amazing sunset view out over the sea. A slight playground for the wealthy, it is still thoroughly recommended as a retreat from the exhausting pace and lack of space in the city.
