A beautiful new book showcases 17 of China's most exciting young photographers
- Text by Karchun Leung
"Light Room" is an inspired photography book showcasing creations by 17 young Chinese photographers produced in a beautiful edition. With the advance in technology of the digital camera or even iPhone, everybody can be a photographer. But the photographers featured in this book, they still stick to traditional film cameras.
It's a collective who are more die hard about their craft, shooting down to their last penny including the likes of Chen Chiachieh, Luo Yang and Ren Hang. As a matter of fact, cameras are their arms in the wrestling with the reality. The upbringing and life experience of this generation have declared their sensitivity deep down. The freshness of their work will always surprise us.
