Shanghai's hidden vintage fashion hub celebrates the old city

Anxi Clothing Market is one of Shanghai's hidden gems, celebrating the old fashioned nature of old China, an antidote to the city's quick moving and burgeoning fashion scene. It's a haven for quality vintage clothes and shoes, and although it may seem like a complicated maze of stalls, with a good eye you will be able to find many charming treasures.
Surviving by word-of-mouth and brilliant prices, it's definitely a treasure hunt of sorts. A shopkeeper called "Sunny man" explained to us that lots of the market's shopkeepers have been here for over a decade, moving with the market from its past outdoor state to new indoor location, centralising the vintage hub.
The fashion world is changing too fast but the shopkeepers don't seem to worry about this. They believe that there is always a loving home for their wares, the hope that this charming ideal of old Shanghai will be kept alive for decades to come.
