Connecting the dots between China's contemporary and diverse artists

"Welcome New Year: Other Gallery Collection Exhibition" unveils part of the classical works collected by the Other Gallery since the establishment opened in 2009. The selection of works are carefully curated, with each piece witnessing the development of the art space. The exhibition is framed by different perspectives on globalisation, reflected through the different places the 15 exhibited artists are coming from.
Realities and perspectives are euphemistically expressed in works of art to enable audiences through visuat impact. Harald Szeemann once said: "The task of a museum is to build up meaningful connections amongst separated works.” It may seem that there is little connection amongst the works exhibited. However, there is something hidden beneath the significance of works to discover the perspectives and realities coincidentally in common among artists with different styles of works.
